Dance Class Styles
BALLET
The Tracey Walker School of Dancing teaches classical ballet under the British Association
of Teachers of Dancing, one of the oldest and most prestigious dance associations
in the world. Their syllabus is used through the grades from pre-primary, at 4yrs,
right up to majors. After Elementary, pupils can decide to either continue with intermediate
and advanced, or go straight on to the student teacher syllabus, followed by associate,
membership and finally fellowship.MODERN
Probably the most popular form of dance within the school. Based on the BATD modern
dance syllabus, we encourage a strong sense of rhythm by teaching time signatures.
Imaginations run wild with improvisation, which also helps choreographic skills and
with the use of song and mime, this class is character building and a great boost to
confidence. Grade work is practised in each class and medal tests are taken from first
steps through to premier award. Some forms of Jazz, hip hop and street dancing are
also taught in the modern dance class, to add a little variety. |
